I'm María. I'm a Colombian artist specialized in children's book illustration. I grew up in a big city feeding my imagination with landscapes and characters I treasured in my drawings.
In 2015 I received a Masters degree in Illustration from the Academy of Art University, in San Francisco,CA. and since then I've been carving my path towards a successful career by working as a freelance illustrator and visual communicator with clients that include Starbucks, Twitter, Wikimedia Foundation, Just imagine Co (Colombian publishing house), and non-profit organizations such as The Pan American Development Foundation –PADF/FUPAD and HOPE- Hispanas Organized for Political Equality.
As an entrepreneur, I created a baby/toddler gender neutral apparel brand [TWIBBLES] where my purpose is to inspire children's creativity encouraging them to love literature and curiosity.
I also work full time, as a Brand Asset coordinator and digital librarian, on the Creative team at Pottery Barn Teen, from Williams Sonoma.
I currently reside in California, with my Illustrator and copywriter husband and the main characters of my illustrations: Benja and Angela, mi kiddos.
